WHAT IS A CHARTER SCHOOL?

AVA is one of 244 charter schools in Wisconsin. Wisconsin charter schools foster an environment for innovation and parental choice.

Regular schools can observe and learn from the charter school. Through this process, the entire public school system is challenged to improve.

Wisconsin wants each charter school to meet the unique needs and interests of its community, parents, and students. Each charter school fulfills a specific local need in education.
